The FTC advises that businesses should “effectively dispose of paper records by shredding, burning or pulverizing them before discarding.” (“Protecting Personal Information: A Guide for Business” – Federal Trade Commission)
Vangel’s shredding and recycling processes ensure customer information is monitored, secured, and insured every step of the way:
Employees place materials for destruction into locked, bar-coded containers.
Containers are scanned and loaded by uniformed, bonded, and insured Vangel personnel into locked, GPS-monitored vehicles. A service receipt is provided at the time of pick-up, the first link in our chain-of-custody documentation.
Containers arrive at Vangel for same-day destruction at our gated and camera-monitored facility.
Our industrial-capacity shredder renders the data incapable of use and identification, and shredded materials are immediately baled and sent to an associate mill for re-manufacturing into new high-quality paper products.
Itemized Certificates of Destruction are returned to the customer for audit and record-keeping purposes and include container serial numbers, Vangel driver’s name, and date and time of pick-up.
